Who is PYCC

Progressive Youth Care & Consultancy was founded in 2020 by people who had already spent years on the frontline of Queensland's residential care sector and who saw, up close, the gap between what young people needed and what the system was set up to give them.
We provide trauma-informed residential care, crisis support, and mentoring for young people navigating some of the hardest circumstances a person can face; homelessness, family breakdown, substance and alcohol impact, and disconnection from community. But direct care is only part of how we work toward better outcomes.

We also build the training standards and advocate for the systemic change that determine whether good care is possible sector-wide, not just within our own walls.

Our approach is grounded in the Village Model of Care; the belief that a young person doesn't just need one relationship or one service, they need a whole community of consistent, skilled people around them. Our programs are developed and overseen by AASW-certified, in-house social workers, and are focused on building real-life skills, genuine community connection, and long-term stability rather than short-term compliance.

PYCC is led by Nicole (Nikii) Hague, whose 28 years of frontline and leadership experience in child protection and residential care shape everything we build; from individual care plans to national reform propositions. That experience is why PYCC doesn't just deliver services: we develop our own training framework, contribute formal submissions to government inquiries, and lead sector-wide work to rebuild trust and capability across Queensland's child protection system.

We work closely with community service partners to stay grounded in what's actually happening on the ground and we aim to be responsive, not reactive, addressing the systemic patterns behind a young person's circumstances rather than just the immediate crisis. That's true whether we're supporting one young person toward a stable placement, or contributing to how the whole sector prepares its workforce for the future.
